About the UPP

The Ultimate Picture Palace is a privately owned independent cinema showing a mix of independent, art house, mainstream and classic films.
The single screen auditorium has 116 seats and the small bar at the back serves drinks and snacks for you to take to your seats before the start of the film.
We don’t show commercials, so the advertised time is the actual start time for the FILM (or maybe a trailer).
Open every day of the week for two evening screenings, with matinees on Saturday, Sunday and Thursday.
Other regular special screenings:
Classic Films (Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings). Themed seasons.
Friday Late (University term time. Start times usually 11pm - see programme for details). Classic masterpieces to carry you through the witching hours and beyond. Reduced prices for members.
Kids Club (Saturday 14:00). After lunch screenings for 3-12 year olds. No unaccompanied adults.
Baby Club (Thursdays, doors open at 12:00). Lunchtime screenings exclusively for parents with babies under 1 year old.
Wheelchair access
The access to the main entrance of the cinema and ticket office is level, as is the entrance to the screen and bar. The toilets are below the screen down a few steps. However, we have an arrangement in place for our customers to use the facilities of our neighbours. The cinema is just off Cowley Road, on Jeune Street and is easily accessible from the bus stop. There is space for a taxi to stop directly outside the cinema and there are a few disabled parking bays opposite the main entrance.
